Audition & Performance Coaching for Musical Theater Singers is designed to help you perform with confidence, build your vocal and stage technique, and truly enjoy the process - always in a caring, respectful and encouraging way.
What You'll Learn:
1. Musical Theater Song Preparation
I’ll help you choose a piece that fits your vocal range and the role you are auditioning for. Then, we'll learn the music and polish the song until it shines brightly.
2. Voice Technique
Along the way, I’ll teach you the voice techniques they'll need — like breath control, pitch accuracy, and projection—in an age-appropriate way. With a solid vocal foundation, you’ll be able to take on any role with confidence, whether it’s belting a high note or delivering a tender ballad.
3. Monologue Preparation
Unless the monologue is pre-chosen by the theater program, I help you find and prepare a monologue that fits the role you are auditioning for, and coach you to give your best and brightest performance.
4. Mock Auditions
I want you to walk into their auditions feeling calm and prepared. That’s why I offer mock auditions where we’ll rehearse everything you need to know to feel confident and act professionally - from the moment you enter the room to when you exit. Directors and theater staff will be impressed with yout preparation, and know they are dealing with a talented actor!
5. Preparing the role you've won
With this type of preparation, most of my students win the role they audition for. I'll help you prepare to perform with guidance on character development and stage movement (if needed), plus tips for overcoming performance anxiety.
6. Overcoming Performance Anxiety
It’s completely normal for you to feel nervous before an audition. I provide gentle coaching to help you manage your nerves and feel in control and confident. Through positive reinforcement and relaxation techniques, I’ll help you focus on the fun of performing rather than stressing about it.
